At this particular time it was summer of 2009 and the school holidays too. My family and I were up at the Lake staying in our holiday house.
Anyway, on Tuesday 2nd of January we were out on the water the whole day and it started at 8:00 with water skiing. I was up first and as I got into the water I thought I could see something long and green swimming about five metres under the water. I thought it must just be me seeing things so I jumped off the boat into the water. Dad threw me my ski's and I put them on then Mum threw me the rope and I grabbed it just as the boat started tugging me. And then I saw it again, the long, green thing swimming about five metres under the surface of the water. I quickly turned my head and yelled "YIP" to Dad and he revved the motor and I popped up out of the water. And then I saw something out of the corner of my eye, a fin?, no maybe a leaf? or a duck? What ever it was it seemed to be keeping up with me. I looked, definitely a fin. I tried to yell to Dad and Mum that there was something following me but they misunderstood and Dad slowed the motor and instead I sunk into the water. Then the thing pulled my ski's off and started swimming around and around my legs! "HELP" I screamed and Dad came whizzing back with the boat and grabbed my ski's and then me. As I got into the boat I felt the slime of the thing hanging down my legs. I told Mum and Dad what had happened as we slowly drove back to the boat ramp and guess what, the thing followed us, and when we were at the 200m buoy it popped its head out of the water and started splashing around and then it stopped and stared at us. The strange thing was it seemed to have a smile on its face! Then it started making a purring noise and rubbing its head on the side of the boat. "You know" said Dad "I think it just wants to be friends!"

And from that day on I played with Tazi the Taniwha of Lake Taupo everyday I was up there.
Great story Maddy it definety put a picture in my head, It is a very interesting story aswell. Tazi The Taniwha seems to like you alot! :)
